Interfaith Legal Clinics

Provides many free services for children and adults in Columbus, including a free lunch summer camp, a free legal clinic, ESOL classes for adults, and referrals to health services and jobs. They also provide one-on-one homework help and tutoring to children whose parents attend the ESOL classes.

Call toll-free for help with housing problems, domestic violence, child custody, divorce and many other legal issues. They provide services to people with low income and can set up home visits for the sick or disabled. They now offer free legal reviews to all homeowners who have questions regarding their  mortgages or those who may have fallen behind. Mental health counseling

Navigation of legal and medical systems

Each youth at Striving for Greatness will receive weekly mental health counseling as per their case plan

Each person living in a Striving for Greatness will learn how to utilize the legal system here in Franklin County Court and where to go to get legal advice. The youth will be able to use the medical system here in Franklin County . They will know how to set-up medical, dental, and vision appointments. They will learn how to locate doctors who accept their insurance.

MENTAL HEALTH AMERICA OF FRANKLIN COUNTRY OMBUDSMAN PROGRAM

Helps individual and families resolve problems related to mental health and alcohol/ drug services. They can assist with many problems, including access to treatment or denial of services, medication access,medical benefits, guardianship and incarceration,services are free and confidential.

YOUTH-LED DISCUSSIONS  AND WORKSHOPS

Each week one youth will be able to pick a topic that they think is important to them to be discussed as a group.

Legal Aid Society of Columbus Child & Youth Law Program

Helps children ( from families with low income) with health, education, mental health  and school discipline needs . They can help with Medicaid denials, IEP meetings with school officials, school disciplinary meetings, termination of disability benefits and children in foster care. They may also be able to help in situations of home safety issues, bullying, evictions, family safety and other issues.

Safety planning

When necessary each youth will have a personalized, practical plan in place to avoid dangerous situations. The youth will know the best way to react when they are in danger.
